Dual Disorder Training and Intervention Books, Pamphlets, Videos etc..

Unfortunately, specific and purpose-written resources to support dual disorder workers and programmes are scarce, although more research papers and text books are being published every year.

The items on this list have been produced by Midas or by Midas in conjunction with another organisation, or have been reported to Midas by our associates and colleagues as worthwhile resources.

Other useful tools can be obtained from our web colleagues in the USA and from the Midas Downloads area.

Kathleen Sciacca has long offered videos and manuals for sale, but now has a range of useful free material too. The manuals include assessments, work, evaluations and progress forms as well as formats for setting up and running groups and individual counselling. They are tightly integrated into her centralised dual diagnosis programme. The videos are most useful as a starting point for dual disorder discussions, being largely promotional/ backgrounding and the recording quality is not good, even if NTSC playback equipment is used. However, the quality and range of Kathleen's offerings is constantly improving, and the site deserves regular return visits.

Bob Eckleberry's web site does not offer "for sale" material (apart from books through linked retailers), but has excellent resources available for download, including high quality counselling and educational manuals. The site has strong links to TIE (The Information Exchange) and is particularly useful for people working with forensic clients and people with personality disorders.
