The Central Coast Area Health Service has developed a broad array
of services for people with a dual disorder. In addition to the
inclusion of dual disorder workers on the youth
team, in 1998, CCAHS produced a useful report
through the work of Martin Evans (Clinical Nurse Consultant in Alcohol
& Other Drugs), and followed this preliminary report with the
appointment of a project officer (Steven Springer). Broad education
programmes and networking followed this appointment.
Both Martin Evans and Steve Springer have now returned to their
former positions; there is no Area position in Dual Disorder on the
Central Coast, but Dual Disorder staff are employed in several of the
Area's facilities.
