St. Vincent de Paul House, Coniston
Provides accommodation and offers rehabilitation for homeless men over 18 years of age.
Facilities include half-way house acommodation fostering independent living for clients in 10 bedsitters; daily support visits by case worker.
Drugs and alcohol are not permitted on the premises but abstinence in a goal rather than a requirement for admission.
The organisation is also responsible for a "proclaimed place" and a hostel/refuge. Referrals are generally through the hostel.
The service is funded through the Department of Community Services grant and administered by a charitable organisation.
The Case Worker has Dual Diagnosis training.
