National Child Protection Clearinghouse
The National Child Protection Clearinghouse operates from the Australian Institute of Family Studies. It collects,
shares, monitors and distributes information on the prevention of child abuse and neglect. It has four major
functions - repository, databases, networking/outreach and advisory.
The NSW Commission for Children and
Young People is a new organisation set up to listen to children and young people and to promote their interests.
The Commission is an independent organisation that reports directly to the Parliament of New South Wales. The
Commission's principal functions are:
To promote the participation of children in decision making that affects their lives.
To promote and monitor the overall safety, welfare and well-being of children.
To conduct special inquiries into issues affecting children.
To make recommendations to government and non-government agencies on the legislation, policies,
practices and services affecting children
To promote the provision of information and advice to assist children.
To conduct, promote and monitor research, training and public awareness activities on issues affecting children
To participate in and monitor screening for child-related employment.
The Commissions website includes the Interagency Guidelines, the Working With Children Check, and the
Inquiry into Children who have no one to turn to.
DoCS
Protecting Children Site On the site are answers to questions like: What is child abuse? How do I report suspected
abuse or neglect? What if a report is made about me? Information for mandatory reporters.
NAPCAN The National Association for the
Protection of Children from Abuse and Neglect is a non-government funded, non profit, volunteer based organisation,
whose vision is "a national commitment to the nurturing and protection of children by supporting parents and
communities for the prevention of child abuse in all its forms".

NSW Consolidated Legislation. This database contains consolidated legislation of the State of New South Wales as
provided by the NSW Parliamentary Counsel's Office.
Centre for Community Welfare
Training The Centre is the human resource development arm of the Association of Childrens Welfare
Agencies. Our objective is to improve the quality of service provision -- from management and direct
care to administrative support -- for services to children, young people and their families. Courses are
offered under the following streams Child Protection; Children and Families; Young People; Alternative Care;
Counselling, Therapy and Group Work; Disability; Legal; Organisational Development and Administration; Service/Program
Delivery; Training; Professional Self-Development; Management.
