The Centre for Education and Information on Drugs
and Alcohol (CEIDA) provides information and professional development
services to the health and related fields in New South Wales. CEIDA is
based in Sydney, NSW, Australia and is funded by the NSW Health
Department.
CEIDA works to increase the number of effective
strategies implemented in NSW, to reduce AOD related harm through
professional training, project development, resource development and
production, customised research services, telephone information
services and public awareness campaigns.
CEIDA's certificate course in Drug Use and
Related Issues includes a module on Dual Diagnosis under the
heading "Introduction to Mental Health and Dual Diagnosis".
This 3-day module can be completed as a "stand alone" unit
if you do not wish to do the entire course, although you may have to
do the prerequisite "Orientation to the Alcohol and Other Drugs
Field".
The course is aimed at developing practical skills
and is competency based. The current cost is $A120. It is anticipated
that this will be increased in 1999.
CEIDA is restructuring course content and delivery;
CEIDA itself has gone through a period of intensive reorganisation,
with a significant impact on the way it delivers its training
packages. Please check!
