This site provides links to basic information regarding a wide range of diseases found in
conflict situations. In most cases, the link will also provide information as to MSF

Health for Asylum Seekers and Refugees Portal (UK)
This site has useful resources for health professionals working with refugees and asylum seekers. While
it focuses on the UK, many of the topics are relevant to health professionals in Australia.
Reproductive Health for Refugees Consortium
Provides reproductive health assessments on a range of refugee populations and research on
issues such as gender-based violence; STI and HIV/AIDS; family planning and safe motherhood.
Survivors International
This site lists torture and trauma centres around the world and has a very comprehensive reference
bibliography on the psychological effects of torture and refugee trauma.

Centre for Refugee Research (UNSW)
The Centre's site provides information on many aspects of the refugee experience both here and
overseas, and a range of educational materials for trainers, teachers and students.
Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA)
This site provides a range of settlement information for newly arrived people. For service providers
needing statistical data on the refugee and humanitarian program, the "Design your own report"
option is particularly useful - you can compile statistics by locations, gender, age, language, education etc.
Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (HREOC)
HREOC's site provides facts on refugees and asylum seekers, reports on visits by the Commissioner to
Australia's Immigration Detention Centres and numerous health-related submissions to the National Inquiry
into Children in Immigration Detention.
Refugee Council of Australia (RCOA)
RCOA is the peak refugee NGO in Australia. This site includes up-coming events, facts and statistics,
and analysis of many aspects of Australia's refugee and humanitarian program.

One of the most comprehensive sites on refugee issues. It includes country reports, refugee law,
UNHCR standards, statistics and resources relating to international refugee issues, including health care.
US Committee for Refugees
This site includes audio of refugee testimonials, and provides up-to-date information on refugee movements
around the world.

Centre for Culture, Ethnicity and Health (VIC)
Has links to a range of useful resources, multicultural materials, organisations and research. Provides
a register of heath promotion projects and delivers training on many aspects of multicultural health.
Multicultural Health Communication Service (NSW)
This service has over 450 health publications translated into a variety of community languages. They
produce Resources and Translation Guidelines, provide referral, and handle enquires from health staff
about all aspects of multicultural communication.
Queensland Health's Cultural Diversity Site (QLD)
This site includes three on-line guides on designed to help health professionals work with patients
from a culturally and linguistically diverse background. Issues covered include: using an interpreter,
culture and health, migration, language, family and society issues, psychosocial stressors, communication
styles, health beliefs and practices, health status, health care utilisation, views on mental health,
suggestions for health care workers, and suggested readings.

The TMHC site lists translated mental health information, training, a resource catalogue and research.
