Hugelmeyer, FAAEM, FACEP,
Conjoint Lecturer UNSW
Director of Emergency
Medicine
Dr Hugelmeyer is Director of Emergency Medicine
at Macarthur Health Service. He completed
specialty training in Family Practice and
Emergency Medicine at the Oregon Health Sciences
University and Denver General Hospital in the
USA. His special interests and experience
include International Emergency Medicine
training and education, prehospital care, rural
trauma care and toxicology.

Dr Richard
Cracknell, FACEM, Dip RACOG, Conjoint Lecturer
UNSW
Staff Specialist Emergency
Physician
Dr Cracknell specialised in Emergency Medicine
in Sydney and joined the department late 2001.
His interests include medical education, working
with Medical Students and Junior Medical Officers,
and Australias many venomous creatures.

Dr Susie
Piper, FACEP
Staff Specialist
Paediatrician
Dr Piper trained in paediatrics at the two
Children’s Hospitals in Sydney before moving to
Macarthur at the beginning of 2000. She is an
APLS (Advanced Paediatric Life Support)
instructor. She has a special interest in
Paediatric Ambulatory Care and is involved in
setting up a new service in Macarthur.

Anne Whiteman
Nursing Unit Manager
Anne has been working at Campbelltown Hospital
since 1990. Initially working in Maternity and
Special Care Nursery she later worked as an After
Hours Nurse Manager. In 1998 she commenced the
position of Acting NUM in the ED, a position she
was later confirmed into. Anne and her family
are long established in the Macarthur area and
she is active in the Girl Guide Movement.

Campbelltown Emergency
Department is privileged to have 8 fulltime Senior
CMOs working with us, all with extensive
training in Medicine & Surgery and with an
average of 8 years Emergency Medicine experience
including some with more than 10 years of service
here at Campbelltown. They bring a wide range
of skills and experience into the department and
keep current in the latest advances in acute critical
care and ambulatory medicine. In the picture from

Nurses
Our Registered Nurses form
the backbone of the department. We have a total
of 43 full and part time nurses that includes
5 Clinical Nurse Specialists and a Clinical Nurse
Educator. We are introducing the Advanced Clinical
Nurse role into the department to fully utilise
the breadth of experience and skill. |
