Our role, is to work in partnership with the local community and other agencies
to achieve for the people of the Macarthur region
Better Health, Good Health Care
Fundamental to this purpose is a commitment to quality. This commitment has
six dimensions:
- ACCESS: For all, on the basis of need, irrespective of age, sex, and/or ethnicity.
- CONSUMER AND COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION: Is welcomed in the planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of services.
- SAFETY: By prevention of harm and the minimisation of risk to consumers and staff.
- APPROPRIATENESS: In the selection of interventions and treatment based on their ability to
produce the required outcome.
- EFFECTIVENESS: In achievement of the maximum benefit from the selected intervention or treatment.
- EFFICIENCY: By best use of resources to achieve the most benefit.
Our commitment therefore is to be responsive to the needs of our consumers,
welcoming them to participate in the key aspects of the service while
providing them with efficient, appropriate and effective treatment in a safe environment.
Fundamentals to this commitment is the application of the Australian Council On Health care Standards (ACHS) principles.
These principles are: Customer focus, strong leadership, strving for best practice, evidence of outcomes, and a culture of improving.
We aim to develop and achieve a quality of health care service, which will be
delivered by all staff in a personalised and caring manner, holding our values
of trust and respect, commitment and accountability, communication and collaboration.
This Quality Policy Statement is based on The Framework for Managing
the Quality of Health Services in NSW, and The Australian Council On Healthcare Standards(ACHS)
