Karitane is an affiliated hospital within the South Western Sydney Area Health Service (SWSAHS). It is a tertiary level organisation which provides information and support to families with children from birth to five years of age.
The organisation consists of:
- A Residential Unit-a statewide referral centre
- Two Family Care Cottages-use of these facilities is available to families living within the local government areas
- Jade House-families referred to this service must live in the South Western Sydney Area Health Service
- A 24 hour information service-the Karitane Careline
- A Volunteer Home Visiting Program
- Education Services
