The hospitals at Campbelltown and Camden are noted for their
friendly and semi-rural work environment. Campbelltown Hospital is a modern 260 bed
acute general hospital located in the city of Campbelltown, 35 minutes southwest of
Sydney CBD.
Approximately 26,000 inpatients are treated each year. Camden
Hospital is approximately 15 minutes by road from Campbelltown, and treats
approximately 8000 inpatients per year.
Between the two hospitals services provided include Ambulatory
Care, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics
and Gynaecology, Anaesthetics, Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, Mental Health, Paediatrics,
Orthopaedics, Palliative Care, Emergency and Intensive Care. The busy Emergency
Department at Campbelltown currently sees 36,000 patients per annum, a third of who are
paediatric
Over the next two years, a major redevelopment program will see
the hospitals increase in size to a total of approximately 400 beds and extend the
level of services from the current Level 3 to Level 5, one level below major tertiary
hospitals. New services will include Cancer Therapy and Renal Dialysis and the major
upgrade of our Adult and Paediatric Emergency departments.
