The training program is Area based and is
accredited by the RANZCP. Liverpool Hospital is the main
teaching hospital of UNSW. Both Bankstown and Campbelltown
Hospitals also take part in the teaching of medical students.
The area is staffed with excellent full time academic staff,
providing good teaching and research supervision. The Area
offers an excellent integrated adult mental health
service. We also have child and adolescent psychiatry unit
at Liverpool, which specialises in perinatal psychiatry and an
adolescent inpatient unit at Campbelltown. The area offers
excellent training in consultation/liaison psychiatry, anxiety
disorders, aged care psychiatry, PTSD, Impulse control
disorders, Transcultural psychiatry, drug and alcohol, early
psychosis intervention and supervision in both psychodynamic and
cognitive behavioural therapy.
