  • Coordinate and organise ongoing inservice education, supervision, training and resources for the BCE program. Liaise with existing women’s health and ethnic health services and other government and NGO organisations.
Past Projects I worked as a community educator on a variety of Health Promotion programs such as: Healthy Woman and Living with Choices programs, Arthritis and HIV/AIDS education, Gentle Exercise classes and Nutrition Education with Healthy Hearts West.

Current Projects Implementing a range of activities to increase cervical screening among unscreened and underscreened women in South Western Sydney including:
  • Community Focussed Activities: Promotion and provision of education programs with particular emphasis on NESB women, indigenous women and older women and linking of women to clinical services.
  • Vietnamese Cervical Screening Project: Targeting Vietnamese women because of their higher incidence rates for cervical cancer. Involves education programs, media campaign, referral to clinical services and provision of education program to Vietnamese GPs
  • GP Quality Assurance Project: Education program run in conjunction with Divisions of General Practice and opportunity for GPs to undertake a Practice Assessment Activity in Cervical Screening
